Diploma in Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technology (DOTAT) is a specialized paramedical programme designed to train students in operation theatre management, anesthesia assistance, surgical procedures, patient preparation, and the handling of advanced medical equipment used in surgical settings.
The programme equips students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. Students receive comprehensive training in operation theatre techniques, patient safety protocols, sterilization procedures, and anesthesia support services.
The duration of the course, including practical training, is 2 Years and 6 Months.
The examination is conducted at the end of the second year, followed by a compulsory practical training period of six months.
Students are required to successfully complete 6 months of practical training in recognized healthcare institutions as part of the programme.
The pass certificate will be issued only after successful completion of the practical training period. No stipend is payable during the training period.
